Downlow Update
It’s been a great year of ministry at Ardent with many kids getting baptized and many others growing in their faith and as individuals, as we go into this summer season we are continuing with our emphasis of connecting parents and students. Be sure not to miss any of the great upcoming opportunities. If you ever have any questions, concerns or comments, we’d love to hear them, simply connect with Pastor Tim through email (tsesink

New Youth Lounge!
This spring Ardent is getting a new lounge area! The pre-school is moving to “Discovery Land” and we are inheriting their old space. The new facility will hold about 30 students and will incorporate XBOX’s, ping-pong, foosball, etc.. as well as a kitchen! Meal groups, various leadership meetings and other smaller events will be hosted from it. We are looking for donations of furniture, games and other things for this room. If you have some things to donate please call the church office first before dropping off.
Summer Trips
First Nations Action Week, July 14th-20th
We are going to Big River Bible Camp (run by NCEM) in Northern Saskatchewan to reach First nations Children (Ages 8-12). We will be staffing the summer camp for a whole week of ministry, some of the things you can get involved in are cooking, cabin leading, digging ditches, doing drama’s, canoeing, riflery and leading worship. This week will blow your mind! For more info check our website or the brochure.
Parent/Teen Canoe Trip, Aug 9th-12th
Want to get into creation and have an adventure with your parent or teen? Get ready to enjoy Gods creation as we spend 4 days paddling in Northern Alberta on the renown Lakeland Canoe Circuit! From towering pines and deep blue lakes we’ll discover together Gods incredible design of the natural world. This trip is for any parent/teen combination that wants to build their relationship while making incredible memories. Register early, a maximum of 5 pairs!
Summer Ignite, Aug 31st -Sept 3rd
We’re off to Kootenay Plains located halfway between Banff and Jasper for an amazing long weekend of roughing it and enjoying the beautiful scenery. On this annual trip we’ll be going climbing, hiking, caving, rappelling, and maybe even some cliff jumping if it gets warm enough! We’ll be cooking over the open fire together and we’ll stay in tents. All activities will be led by a qualified leader who knows the area well. We’ll have times of worship, teaching and also times of just being quiet before God’s awesome creation. Parents are more than welcome to join us on this trip as we do need chaperones.
Parents Corner
Come on out!
I strongly believe that the child-parent relationship has the most impact on a student, far above any youth pastor or volunteer. Because of that, we would like to invite you to any event you want to come to (Just ask your teenager J). We also often need chaperones, especially for our overnight events. If this is something you’re interested in being involved with please let me know.
We have a website?

Meal Groups
A huge thank-you to all the Meal group leaders who gave of their time and energy to invest in students! Meal groups end May 14th and resume in the fall. These crucial places of friendship, sharing,
discipleship and learning are a great way to grow in your faith.
Pick-up Time
At Ardent we run from (usually) 7-10pm. Three hours seems to be the ideal amount of time to connect with students. We make every effort to be done on time and we would ask that you pick up your student as close to 10pm as possible. This allows the leaders who’ve been working all day to get home at a decent time. Thank you so much for your co-operation with us in ministry.
